Wind sensitive all west facing beaches (from silverstrand to south Jetty) are best in the A.M. They tend to get blown out early...
Combo swells are great for peaky conditions at beachbreaks.
Long period WNW/ W swells are best for south facing beaches (C St. North and all point breaks to Santa Barbara)
Respect the locals, everyone knows what they are doing up here. Be patient, make friends. Don't back paddle, you WILL be remembered...Otherwise, enjoy!!!
Dominant Swell and Wind Direction : Summer- Flat, otherwise mainly South (some occasional short period West windswell
Fall - Mix of lingering Souths and fresh W/WNW swell(offshore winds during this season occasionally)
Winter - W/WNW swells. Best season. prevailing winds from west, South when stormy.
Spring - W/WNW swells. Winds from W.

Just drop in on them
This is a message to all Ventura & Nard locales: If your surfing you home break, please don't forget to burn all non-locales that don't show respect in the water. Just drop in on them.
