Bring a full suit and some food. Don't forget water for rehydration and rinsing off. The lefts absolutely go off! Rights are an option but lefts are wedgey and incredible! Like Pipe when its really doing its thing.
Overview
Atmosphere
Really nice place. One of the nicest surf spots I've seen in California. The thing is that the military guys will often ask you to get out of the water for a while until they're done bombing near the area. Just listen to them and keep checking back to see if you can jump back in.
General
This spot is bodyboard heaven! Lotsa speed, lotsa long barrels, and lots and lots of ramps! Very high performance.

you surf on the other side of the labs from the hotel..I was stationed there for 6 years and surfed that place so much,,,when I first started surfing there in 01 there would be hardly anyone out on a nice swell, but it got pretty publicized and now every pro and photog finds their way onto base during a good swell and crowds it out...really a bummer

Thank God for the Navy...
It is so great that the Navy has control of this spot. Can you imagine how many douchebags would be laying claim to local status and all the bullshit that entails if this place was publicly accessible?
