Additional Surfing Infos |
| | There are a few ways to surf this place. If its a heavy day, and you are a decent surfer, I would suggest charging the point. It gets great when there is a solid swell and the wave is sucking up off the rocks. For an additional rush, go left. Itll pull you over the rocks and you can see the boils rising up the wave face. Not Teahupoo, but still a challenge to beat the wave. If your a beginner, the southern part of the beach is a fun beachbreak that can hammer you into the sand. Catch it in the morning before the wind gets on it. Also, Neptunes Net (the restaraunt) is a good grinds place fo wen you stay hungry.

Overview |

Atmosphere |
Very crowded on the weekends. I moved here from Hawaii and the crowds (not the wave) reminded me of a good day at VLand - localism, but not too heavy if you know what your doing. The sand/rock bottom is a bit dangerous for ultra-beginners, but if you are in your intermediate stages, you should give this place a try. |

General |
This was the first place I surfed in California. I caught it on a good 3-5 foot winter swell and have seen it look the same many times since. The water in the winter is a factor, as it can get very cold - down in the lower 50's. A full suit (4/3) is highly recommended. Be nice to the locals, dont drop in, and you can get your share when its on fire. |
