Northern California: from Del Norte to Marin Counties. Wild and Cold, hard weather, white sharks, big unsurfable groundswells. The land of the hardcore surfers.
Central California: Still hard weather, beautiful coastline, far more options to surf. It's the perfect land for searchers. Prepare your quiver from the beachbreak shortboard to the Maverick gun. Central California is wild, Central California is beautiful, Central California is surfable...
South California: The modern surf area. Always somewhere to surf. Frequency but lack of consistency. Good weather, fun waves, crowds: the place where you need to be !

depends - on where you go. L.A. area only gets trunkable in Aug. Anywhere north of that is gonna be some sort of wetsuit year round. Anything north of Santa Barbara is most likely 4/3 full suit year round.
