It can depend on your preferences . $20 a day could quite easily see you through . If your a monk 10. If you like aircon, beers, bikes, a bito'this and a bit othat you will get by on US$40 for sure . Thats 2000 pesos . A air con room goes for 1000.

what you need to know
first things first get to cebu, then get transport to sirigao on the island of mindinao...take care of your stuff there money bank post emailphone etc. get transport to sirigao del norte from wharf. GET to General Luna as quick as you can.. orient yourself there, mirabels is good and the only grub. decide where to stay..out by the point(cloud nine, etc...heaps of waves here and out the front on the reefs) or closer to G.L. by cemetaries(big paddle, boat better) and the other reefs and islands to the south. dont know if pirate pete is still there, but if he is grab a beer and play some squares, youll know what I'm talking about when you get there. There is so many good waves, alot you got to find on your own..fickle my ass, just turns on and off like 10 times a day...If you go to the north side of the island stop in to say hi to richard..he shapes up there, or did for years. dont be afraid to step into the jungle to claim your own "find". keep an eye on your stuff...sticky fingers on the island, but generally the people are beautiful. beer is cheap!
