LAST TIME - FOR THE LAST TIME, IT`S CALLED "POWERPLANT"!! IF YOU CALL IT ANYTHING ELSE, YOU ARE PROBABLY NOT WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE. GOOD TO MEET THE CREATURE, HOPE YOU ENJOYED
"the SPECIAL" AT THE GATHERING. S.B.U.Z. RULES !!!!

This place wins the prize for MOST overrated - I've surfed here for years and it never gets good. Finally this year decided to leave for HB and man this was the best decision of my life. Way better waves, better shape, better water quality, cute girls on the beach and overall a much better vibe. Seal has its place for those old farts who don't want to forget the 60s but was probably never that good to begin with. All of you can have this place since my surf time is too valuable to be wasted on mediocre waves.

Creature - If you surf river or Northside Seal then you know the Creature. Lives on 1st shapes those wide tailed tear-drop 5 fin boards and rips that place apart. I've seen him on N.side already this year ripping the parking lot rights. I believe he is mid 50. He owns barracudas on a big S.swell. In fact some say he does live on the Jetty (especially on a 6'
S cracking off the end.)

Damn Straight! - Everybody talks smack about this stretch of beach, untill the winter when big NW and W swells turn this place into a frickin cover shot scene. South side gets so hollow and peaky its insane, northside is really rippable and the in the summer the river mouth turns into some costa rican river mouth secret spot, with 500 people out. Fun waves all over the place, and many of the people who mock it actually caught their 1st waves here. Always worth checking when the swell is on, usally perfect with enough swell.

Creature ripped littles and still rips - Long ago there was deep water in the river and swells would make their way close to the paring lot on the long jetty. This was "Littles". It would get waste high and hollow shredable little dredgies, and who ripped it? Creature. He has lived in Seal Beach for quite some time. He is in his early fifties and rips a short board still! One word- Spetzmen. Can you say Spetzmen? Now you can say creature.

It`s called "Powerplant" - Ah the joys of the "BLAZING" midnite sessions on south swells in warm water in the summer when the days were so packed it looked like Malibu. Reeling over the sandbar on low tide moon-lit nites with a few S.B.U.Z. members ripping all nite, and the look on the faces of the early risers seeing us allready surfed-out on the way in. Then the DREDGE came. Never the same. You guys now should pray to the spirit of "BOZO" every time you paddle-out!!!!

Big wednesday? - how was the big wednesday this year? (dec 21, 2005) i was down in Baja, and never did hear how RJ's or Seal was.

Yellow Peril? - With the Spring algae bloom "red tide" in full progress plus urban runoff from recent rains the water in the river is a bright stinky yellow!
