Brooks Street Access
Step One: Get to Laguna Beach through Laguna Canyon Road or PCH (highway 1). Step two: get on PCH and go south (or north if you came through Dana Point). When you see the statue of the Greeter at the old Pottery Shack, that's Brooks Street. Step Three: It's hard to find a parking spot on Brooks on the "wet" side of PCH, so you might be better off turning inland and parking on the "dry" side. Step Four: There are stairs at Brooks, Oak, or Thalia. If you go down the stairs at Oak or Thalia, just walk south until you can't go any further.

Additional Surfing Infos
Don't go deep! stay on the wing and be ready for a steep drop. After that it's easy. If you come in summer there will a lot of traffic. Also be aware of the blackball area between Brooks and Thalia during the summer.
  Overview
Atmosphere This can be the biggest break in Laguna, but it needs a south swell to work. If you wait for a big swell (6-8ft.) you can meet people like Kelly Slater, Rob Machodo, Donavan Frankinter, and Bill Bryan. There are two main reefs, First and Second. First breaks most often. It's about 50 m from shore. First reef is REALY skecthy (ledgy, step, sometimes close out). The hundreds of boils can meke it hard to paddle at lower tides. Beware of rocks on the inside.
Second Reef is a very different world. Glassy, barrels, and plenty of carving space. It is big when this place breaks (6-10ft.). Second is about 95 m from shore. A place that rarely breaks is...Third Reef when the sets come trough you'd better be ready. When your on the inside and you see it peaking at fourth reef you think "Why the heak am I out here!".
When it is not big you'll see longboards and not so good surfers. It breaks at first on small days by the way. If you have any questions about the spot look for a guy named Ted Taylor in the line up. Have a good sesion.
General All and all, Brooks is a sketchy wave that is fun. Have a good time!

Rob Machado
Must have a house in the area because I saw him shopping at the ralphs in Laguna. I'm sure he's surfed here.
