Additional Surfing Infos
Overcrowded mediocre point break. Slow rolling lines good for longboarders and those that would just like to cruise. Pretty spot and for some strange reason water that is colder than beaches to the north and south. On winter swells it can get some juice but can't hold much size. The outside takeoff is right next to a large rock that can become a nightmare when crowded.
  Overview
Atmosphere Good place to camp but a truly mediocre wave.

Crowded at Dawn
Hit the water at 5:15 - Still dark. It was a bit bigger than I anticipated, but still not the 4-6 that Surflie.com was hyping. Got two good waves, snapped my leash, and went to get another from the car. When I got back, all of Malibu had arrived, w

Waves at Secos
Paddled out at Secos on my way home from work.  I normally like to ride my 7'9" here but I only had my shortboard with me.  Oh well, I paddled out into a fairly crowdedline-up.  then again...3 people at Leo can be crowded de

TOO MUCH FN KELP
Came back to Leo and brought my 7'9" fun board this time.  Caught alot more waves, and it was breaking outside the rock so it was challenging being the only goofyfooter sitting the deepest on the point.  I actually bailed just to t

Malloy at LEO?
Took my 80s 6'0 thruster to Leo on Friday.  There is tons of kelp right now at Leo so I needed a board with less rocker and more thickness to push through all that salad.  The crowd wasn't that bad, because of the kelp, and I manage

Two Stars huh>??
Leo can get really nice. I've had some of my best waves ever out there. Rights so long that my legs were quivering at the end. I think Leo can garner a little more than two stars!! The takeoff is small, and sometimes you may get shoulder hopped ...but all in all, this place is summertime bliss :) I do the place on a shortboard (fat fish)...but recommend a longboard for the majority. The longboarders always get in first, because they can sit out past the rock a LONG ways. If you're on a shortboard, you'll have to be sneaky ;)

Rocker
The Rocker nailed it; except that I've ridden long and short there for a lot of years now, with equal success (right tool for the right day - eh Rocker?). Here's a tip: paddle out, figure out who you should consider a factor - you can't miss us - we know each other(there's about a dozen regulars), and strictly adhere to etiquette, including lining up amongst ourselves). Line up with us, mind your manners, don't choke the drop - that's the key to any spot, really.
