Florianopolis Island usually referred as "Floripa" has some of the most consistent surf in Brazil. It picks bigger swells coming from the South Atlantic and Antartica. The best period is from April to October.
Dominant Swell and Wind Direction : during summer, it recives a lot of swell from the north, and during the rest of the year from the south (antartica)

check out nexussurf.com, i did a package with them and it was awesome -- stayed in best part of island, right in front of kick a$$ beach, and had everything taken care of, surf, restaurants, partying... amazing vacation.cheers,tom
