Cape Lookout Access
Cape Lookout State Park is a few miles north of Pacific City - you can't miss it. Take the first left down the trail from the parking lot. It is quite a long walk down to the beach. Be prepared (food & water) for the walk back up. After a good day surfing the climb is tough. 1/3 of the way down the trail you can see the break.

Additional Surfing Infos

  Overview
Atmosphere Cape Lookout is one of those places you never forget. It is a serious committment to make the trek to the beach. It is a bit of a gamble because you have to hike even to see the waves, and you are so far away that you really can't tell what the conditions are. It is a long pack but if you catch it on a good day you will go again and again. The atmosphere can be spooky. This is a huge, vast beach just south of a huge cape. You are out with a few friends and there isn't a soul within miles. Cell phones do not work and there are no payphones and it is a long way back to the car.
General A sign in the parking lot say's "locals only". Don't worry about it, chances are you'll be the only one there.
