Since I don't surf any more, I tell you this.. - I surfed a hollow right (3-12+),or what we called 'Inbetweens' in the eighties. By looking at the map, it ain't even on there! They are showing 'Rockpiles', and the description of same is of 'Rockpiles'. The hollow close out barrel called Inbetweens is the next spot over from Kaiser lefts. It holds to over 20+, and I know because a friend of mine and I almost drown there in July of '85- the same day that James Jones took a photo of Ala Mo Bowls breaking over the old channel marker, which was 20 feet from mean sea level. I'll tell you all about it because I no longer surf there and even if I did I wouldn't care about you all in the line up at 10+ feet because you have to know where to line up and I ain't wearin' no leash 'cause leashes are for sissies and girls! The other posters are right- Inbetweens is the hollow close out right to the left of Rockpiles. BTW- THEY ARE MAKEABLE WITH AN EIGHT FOOT SINGLE FIN PINTAIL

In-Betweens - I dont know what that guy was saying in the write-up that inbetweens is a longboard wave, This is a spot that works on a big SW swell and it breaks "in-between rockpiles & kaisers. On a lower tide, overhead south swell, you can get some sick spinning right barrels. Not all the waves are makeable but they are fun and if its on you wont have to battle it out with the pack @ kaisers. The toughest thing on a decent south swell might be just trying to find PARKING!!!

firing - All you guys are clueless, in betweens is one of the better kept secrets in that area because when the waves get really big in town...too big for Kaisers and when bowls is breaking at the channel bowl, in betweens is firing, stand up barrels, not all makeable, but big tubes either way

yep - i think da guy is actually right. It seems as though theese days everybody calls it in betweens though

middles / in-betweens - isn't "in-betweens" actually the wave between rockpiles right and kaiser's and the area between rockpiles left and bowls called "middles"?

my fault - short in and out on the left oops (i should know being goofy)

wrong - who ever wrote this is an f'ing idiot only good when it gets big! super fast right with good makeable barrels and a short ride on the right with an in and out barrel if it does not close out and you know where drop in on them (kind of rare even with good swell). rockpiles will be closing out so get a short ride then pop out fast and don't f'up or pop off the lip or your going to spend some time over some very shallow reef with sets rolling in. longboards go to f'ing threes or pops theese are long fun rides when it gets big. i swear if i see another idiot getting on way out and just riding a high line and doing nothing...

die assholes - who submits this shit? in the intro, it describes the wave and says that if it gets too hectic, to paddle towards rockpiles or Bowls. How dumb and misinforming is that? in betweens is a fun wave and can take on great shape sometimes, but it's rare. nothing to live your whole life for. it's a great distraction if kaiser mega crowds get too insane. rockpiles can't hold big, so if you can't handle paddling back out at docile in betweens, how the hell you gonna handle a super fast left with a right that goes over dry reef, with even MORE of a bitch paddle than all 4 spots. and Bowls? Why tell someone who can't handle IN BETWEENS, the reject wave, to go to BOWLS??? you want them to die? In Betweens is not even a real name for a spot, and a real spot it is not. i hate you idiots.

Sweet Spot! - This spot is a nice spot to get barreled when it's going off. In fact when the swell hits Kaisers, Rockpiles, and Inbetweens is usually barreling but Rockpiles just closes out. It should be a hella of a summer.
