This spot goes right when the swell comes from SW and the tide is more than 1m. The beach is not easy to find, so it will be better to ask the locals. If this beach in not working, then Puerto Sta. María beaches are the best options 'cause it is just 10kms from Xerez.

que triste - Parece que hay gente que no sabe asumir lo que hay.En Jerez o Xerez no hay playa y mas vale que no vallas mucho por San Telmo preguntando por la playa por que se van a reir de ti.

Some peolpe are ill. In Xerez or Jerez there´s not beaches and don´t go for San Telmo ( In Jerez ) asking for the beach because the people joking about you. Jerez in on the winelands 30 o 40kms from the beach.

nice spot!! - The beach is very difficult to find... but when you find it you can enjoy santelmo beach!! i think that santelmo is one of the best beach breaks of andalusian country. there breaks a perfect tube with north east wind.

english surfer - i'm a south cornwall surfer living in xerez for the last 2 years,i'm working there in a wine cellar, the city has a huge meadow around, but despite i hit the road every weekend looking for waves along the whole atlantic strecht of coast in cadiz province,i haven't found a piece of salty water in xerez or its surroundings,it is an inland town situated about 40 kms away from the closest beach,i think this spot is situated near rota, another village of the atlantic coast in cadiz province...anyway,after searching for the best spots in the area,i can tell you that the ocean becomes powerfull in the area between cadiz capital city and the town of barbate, where u can find the finest surfing beaches and wonderful landscapes, xerez has no beach,i'm pretty sure about that, positively, but if someone can tell me where to find it i'll be thankfull cos of saving the money i use to spend in petrol looking for the best waves of cadiz territory, from sanlucar to tarifa...let me know about it,ok?
cheers to all xerez inland wannabes!
