was there this summer... - ..locals were really on our case whenever we tried to surf the peaks that was working, however when they weren't all in a pack or when they were teaching the surf schools they were mellow enough.
The waves where way more fickle than in baleal, and we found ourselves in almost double overhead one day when we had paddled out in chest high 10 minutes earlier.
The camping site really sucked, full of portugese variations of redneck inbreeds and a 10 by 10 meter asfalt lot to pitch a tent on. However there is a nice youth hostel at the end of the board walk that realy saved us. Had a much better time in Baleal, however the waves seemed faster and with more power in area branca if you wanna deal with the locals.
