RE:Taghazout
Hey there people ive just spent 8 weeks in Morocco stayed about 3 weeks in Taghazout and all i can say is the waves in the Taghazout area are a complete joke. The waves only break at low tide they are fat slow and VERY crowded.Anka Point is a fat piece of shit that only breaks in a big W/NW swell. The best wave in big swell is a place called Draculas, small swell a place called Boilers.I hired a car and drove 12000km around Morocco and the best waves by far are in the deep south and north of Safi if you search you will find.If you do stay in Taghazout DONT stay at Smashed travel its a complete ripoff they charge 5 star prices and provide a half star service. The Australian surf guides are a bunch of lazy Drunk Stoners who take you to the same boring breaks.Rent your own appartment for a third of the price, a good place is (Residence Taghazout) at the western end of the town.Car rental is also very cheap about $40AUD per day.If you want to experiance the real Morocco go inland through the atlas mountains and out to the the dessert. The true Moroccan people are very open friendly warm people i was fortunite enough to stay with 2 local families which was an experiance that will remain with me for ever.If you have any questions feel free to email me casneath@hotmail.com bye for now safe travels to you all..

Please stop it!
Please stop it!
If you still want to surf in quiet places with cool atmosphere & no pbs. with the locals, stop posting pictures & maps of places like this one. It's the country side there, this place has been kept quite for years, local people (not surfers) there have no academic education & live only from fishing, they used to be sweet & welcoming, today we are noticing more & more rips & violence. We, as Moroccan surfers, are trying to preserve places like this one from mass tourism. These kind of posts will push us to talk/ act tough toward the foreigners who will shoot "secrets" like this one & post pics on this kind on web sites. Cameras might be destroyed. Please behave...
