Baia Formosa is a fischer man vilage, you have 2 bays. The big one with inside haves for begginners where you can find the locals young men body-boarding with peaces of wood. This bay is good for the low tide. Then you must find the little bay next. Here the spot is rocky for expirienced surfers. Normaly is crowed and dificult to cath a wave but it deserves to wait.
Sometimes you are lucky you can cath a wave in the meedle of the little bay and enter surfing into the outside off the big bay. I've seen it once and and is almost a 300 meters road

Atmosphere
For me is the best spot in the nord east of Brazil. You have to rent a car (go to Natal) but people are friendly an it is must cheaper tham Pipa and other tourisitic places.
General
I go there every year recomend to saty at Villa Bonita right aboce the bay
or for cheap accomodation and great ospitality, go in front of the peak and ask for the pousada de dona Raimunda. Her soon Figueredo is one of the best oldtimer surfer in Town.
Special Place
Really special place that you can surf in some of points,some of tide, and for a big distance in the wave(300 mts).sunny and friendlly persons.

baia formosa rocks!
I have been to brasil few times and once i discovered baia formosa i decided to stay there.
Locals are friendly, the life is really layback and if a swell come in the PONTAL really rock, otherwise there is the 'POINTSECRET' which is a beachbreak 5km farther south that gives always reasonable waves.

Baia Formosa special place
this is a wonderfull place, very good waves, but often crowded in a week days,is a right point brake, you can surf for more tham 300 mts.I sometimes go to B.F. and be there for a mounth or more I forget the life,only surf.
