Florianopolis Island is the most beloved city in Brazil after Rio de Janeiro. It has amazing nature and such a hawaian atmosphere in that sense of nature preserving, healthy life and habits. It is Santa Catarina state capital's. It has around 400 thousand inhabitants. Tourism and public administration, tecnology facturing and public administration are the economical legacy.
Florianópolis has more than 40 beach in the island and around 100 beaches if we include so the continental part of the city. It has some of the most consistent surf spots in Brazil. It picks bigger swells coming from the South Atlantic and Antartica. The best surfing periods are from early March to late May, and late September from early November. Alway take you wetsuits, even on summer.
Dominant Swell and Wind Direction : During summer, it recives a lot of swell from the east and southeast, and during the rest of the year from the south (antartica).

check out nexussurf.com, i did a package with them and it was awesome -- stayed in best part of island, right in front of kick a$$ beach, and had everything taken care of, surf, restaurants, partying... amazing vacation.cheers,tom
