If you are comming from 421 it will end and you will enter Wilmington stay straight you will pass HotWax Surf shop continue your route 14Mi. You will pass Cove Surf Shop and go about a mile or 2 and there are some public beach area's.
Great Surf area a lot of surf, watch out for Localism the Guys with Longhair don't mess with and always remember they are watching you there is a group of Hawaiians don't paddle out with a ego or you want be leaving the beach with a smile. Parking is mostly $5 for 24hrs unless you decide to go down to the peir there you are ran buy the Money snatching clock! Beware cops love giving tickets if you don't pay...

Localism...Isn't that bad just watch out for the group of Hawaiians who wear the Volcom bone rash Guards they have been known to slash tires and wax up your windows but they only do so if you show no respect in this area remember they are not home in Hawaii and they make it known they are Hawaiians! watch for the finger after that they will be on you until you leave!

Great spot,one of my favorite's in North carolina even though Hatteras takes the number #1 spot....But have fun and respect the locals!!!
I love Carolina Beach. Im up there every summer and the locals are really cool as long as you respect them just like any other place. The surf is pretty good and pretty consistant, its where i started out.
