The Blowhole used to be one of the best breaks in Florida but due to dredging from the army corps. of engineers, has lost its flame and now its infamous status resides as "just another break."

Quality Control Needed - Blowhole is not a "world class" break. It does not break for 300-500 meters on a "good day". While I have never seen it at 5 meters in swell height (and I'd bet money the person who put it here hasn't surfed it above head high), I HIGHLY DOUBT it can hold it.It's a good area wave and one of the better ones in Florida. From talking to those who surfed it in the 1970s and early 1980s it used to be better.
