Additional Surfing Infos
This is one of the best spots in Texas. the north jetty has a slight curve which creates a cove like beach, and blocks the south prevailing wind and creates long powerful waves. The other side of the jetty (pasr the channel) can hold big NE swells and can get really good and big-super long lefts. But the right is the best, can actually look like a point break.
  Overview
  Atmosphere Definately worth the trip!
General This spot is awesome, but it is a crazy drive down there, bring all supplies and extra fins or another board just in case. If there is swell, it will be bigger and better in Mansfield. Guaranteed!

There are no waves here. It is all just a farce. Illegal Aliens will rob you if you go there. There are devils there at night as well. Also a tight group of expat locals that will hassle you in the lineup. Dont go there if you value your life. No g

This spot is really good actually
I used to surf this spot very consistantly few years back. I have seen this place GO OFF numerous times. Back before all those large hurricanes fucked it all up, on a good solid SE swell with more east in it would light up that break. Caught that place many times WELL overhead and peeling for 200+ yards, easy mellow outside drop to a top to bottom drainer on the inside. We chased many storm swells down there in my 4x4 silver Jeep. The guy Mike you mentioned below, I think he may be the guy that owns Wind and Wave in CC if Im thinking right. This place is hardcore and the trip is even more. You gotta time the tides right or its a 4 hour drive. This spot is very fickle and have gotten skunked a few times, but those gem days def made up for it. But if the surf sucks, BEST fishing on the gulf coast, used to catch 3-4 foot tarpon and 50"+ bull reds there. Oh yeah, they dont call that beach "bull shark beach" for nothing, check the spray paint sign on the beached barrel about 45 miles down! haha

June 22 in Mexico
Hey you bunch of whiners....anyone know where the ASP Mexico June 22 was held?....I met a guy on the beach at Port Mansfield (Mike?) while waiting for waves...who said it was South of Acapulco. Oh...by the way, Im an Aussie based in Dallas and I also live in Port Mansfield, bought a surf shack there in December. Ive made at least ten trips from Dallas so far this year and had three good to very good surfs. One was epic during tropical storm (whatever) earlier this year. It pumped for three days peaking at about 8ft (face)I had one other guy out there on one occasion, could have done with some company. I spent more time with the Homeland Security guys than other surfers. So.... more action... less talk. There's waves everywhere in the world, just be smart enough to pick the day and not spend too much time bitching on websites.Anyone looking for a lift out to the jetties when the swells up is welcome to meet at the boat ramp, glad for the company...never seem to see any of these so called "surfers" around when theres swell. Its the same in OZ...when the waves are up over 10 feet on the West Coast all the boys go to Jelly.Same in Hawaii, same in Mexico, same in Nicaragua.Ive got one thing to say about all this...Port Mansfield is bigger than the surf I get in Dallas and when the next hurricane swell arrives I will have a choice of five guns ranging in size from 6.2 to 8.6.I wonder how many of you fuckwits will be out there?
