Additional Surfing Infos |
| | Only two places to park for non residance or public. At the pass or at the north end of the island.Bad beach erosion causes county to dredge sand to make beach extend out over orig.sandbars, but the bottom is fairly deep till you get close to shore creating a hollow fast breaking wave. You need to get up quick and go,(especially at low tide),sort of "Pipeline"style.

Overview |
| |
Atmosphere |
Winter is best for consistancy from Jan to Feb from nasty cold fronts ripping through Canada to Key West.Catch it day after front hits at dawn for killer little hollow rights.Best to park at blind pass and walk north up the beach till you get tired of walking because the current is strong north to south in winter.Once you reach the pass, stay in and check out the long unreal right that peels down the boomerang shaped sandbar just south of the 20'wannabe jetty.when you get out you will be on the Sanibel side of the pass.If the pass is blocked by sand, no problem getting to your car.If water is flowing through, watch for hatefull sand spurs when trying to access the bridge on the Sanibel side.Try to catch summertime hurricane or tropical storm swells, you will not believe how it holds up in even big swells,(bring football gear and first aid kit)!!!Tropical storm Bob in the 80's sat in the middle of the gulf and sent double overhead+ death swell with hardly any bad weather because of its distance from Fla. .Sounds like B.S.?.....do some research, the news reported the seas report at....GET THIS...17 to38 feet,INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE!!!!!!!! |
