Additional Surfing Infos

  Overview
Atmosphere I went surfing with a friend from Newcastle and I didn't think that we'd score any decent waves as the wind was howling in from the NE, giving serious blown out storm surf up and down the coast. We stopped off at Beadnell Bay to check it out and too my surprise I saw clean lines of 2-4ft surf. Standing on the beach I checked the compass on my watch and was happily surprised to see that the north part of the bay faces SSE, meaning that the strong NE wind was blowing offshore and hitting the storm surf as it wrapped around the point. We ended up having a classic...
General The north end of Beadnell Bay I think it the place to be when it's big and blown out everywhere else as there's a good chance that the wind will be offshore here and the waves clean right up as they wrap around.

Beadnell Point
Rode the right in the middle of the bay at Good Friday 07 - everywhere else was pretty big - 10 ft+ (N swell) and the bay at Beadnell was producing an awesome right hander - maybe 5 ft, perfect 100 yd wally rides. The point was just about working and could be epic, but with about 4 ft of swell on it, just looked mental - breaking onto shallow jaggy rocks. Only problem with the day - there must be a sewage outlet near beadnell cos the water was completely minging - shame cos the waves were unbelievable.
