Cool spot - I spent the last 2 weeks in August surfing Grand Village/ Saint Trojan. In the second week reasonable size solid swell and off shores made this well worth the visit. Good waves to be had all up and down the beach. Near the wreck is good but does get crowded, only hassle was one surfer and quite a few body boarders trying to 'steal' waves. Strong currents as tide drops, if your not experienced take care. Beach gets crowded but is big enough to cope. Enjoy.

High Tide - I was at La Grande Plage at the end of August and thought the surf was great. If you go fairly close to the wreck at high tide I think surf is best then.

locals are cool - hi i surfed this spot in october april summer and sometimes week ends, i think this spot is fun because when there is waves offshore the locals are kind with you and you can speak with them when you surf well.
bonjour je surfe ce spot en octobre avril l été et quelques fois pendant les week ends je trouve ce spot tres fun car meme si il y a de la vagues et un bon offshore les locaux sont simpa et vous pouvez leur parler comme des amis quand vous surfer bien.

not to bad - Just try it. It could be really different depending on which day. But its often bigger than the north's spot.
