True facts - i surfed there in 2003,04 and 05. and i had some great waves there.(lefts and rights!!!) the new jetty has destroyed the length of the ride but it offers protection from onshore wind (2 common in summer)It has to be at least 2 m on plage marinela to have 1.5 m waves on la bare. but when it is good it IS VERY VERY VERY crowded-up to 50 or more people, some of them can be unfriendly. it can also happen that they trouble you out of no reason but it is not that common. what you give is what you get back remember!!

Vive La Barre! - What a sin. La Barre was one of the preeminant surf spots in the sixties. Water was clean; perfect waves. Just goes to show you what "progress" can do.

Sheltered Spot - Yeah the lads are right about the spot, polluted is the word.Pooh and oil, take your pick.
However its affords one of the few sheltered spots to had on this coast. Only a direct onshore ever seemed to ever spoil it. Best around low water.
And besides Cavaliers is just a small walk away....

no title - La barre is only a spot for very big swell (2,5/3 meters for Anlget) when you can't surf in another spot.

Just a left! - Hey dudes! La Barre is just a nice left, in the early morning on offshore - conditions it can get really hollow and good fun! But pollution from the harbour near by is a prob!
