Playa de Esquinzo Access
The spot is south of El Cotillo a small town on the western coast of Fuerte. From Corralejo it's a 40 min drive. When you reach El Cotillo just drive on the parking lot situated on the left of the street. The parking lot leads to a dirt road into the dessert (parallel to the coast). Follow rocky trail for 4km then when you spot a white building on the right take the next dirtroad to the right. The trail leads to a plateau where you can park your car (there'll be other cars around, esp. surf-schools). You can se the spot from there, it is a bay with perfect sand beach. Climb down and surf.
It is highly recommended to use a 4x4 because the rocks can fuck up any tire + you're lost in the desert!

Additional Surfing Infos
You can't see your car from the beach + you're 4 miles away from the next town. Be sure you lock it properly!
Surfing it is easy though it is a perfect beach break. Paddling out near the big rock in the middle of the bay assures not to waste energy on the whitewater. If it is crowded be nice to the locals and give them some waves (they are way better then you are anyway...).
Do not camp on the beach it is controlled!
Bring your longboard it works all the time!
  Overview
Atmosphere The spot is perfectly nice, especially if you're afraid of surfing reefs. The crowd can be a reason not to surf there, but you can have a nice time just sitting at the beach, too.
The locals are a bit strange, so do not wonder if you come out of the water and someone is sitting on your towel, using your cigarettes (previously located in pants) to roll a joint, lighting it with your lighter (previously located in backpack )and then taking a sip of your coke before going back to his friends. Relax - they won't take your money!
General It's a fun beachbreak but before climbing down check the line-up from above. Forget it if the wave is closing up and if there are more than three surf-schools around (Landrovers with surf-school stickers on it + 100 malibus and kids on the beach).
Another concern might be not to go there without a 4x4 vehicle as you can easily fuck up your tires on the dirtroad! we used a rental car (Citroen Saxo) and had to drive in the first gear to reduce the risk of a flat tire - it sucks!

great spot
great spot for surfers and bodyboarders but watch out for rips, the currents are really strong.

Love this Beach!
I caught such a beautiful long ride at this beach on the left on the far side, when i tried to avoid the rocks, about 30cm from the surface i wiped-out and cut the f**k out of my foot on the rock, it was well good!
