The truth - Maybe in the last 25 years there has been a few ridable days.I have been going there since 1987, but not to surf. Due to the cliffs, the wind is onshore and the surf is mush that sections. No clean place to stay, no food, cold wet & windy. Great place to hike and be alone. If you want waves head to a place that is known to have waves. The reason nobody comes here is because its not worth it.

aaaa - I didn't find any waves there when i went to Sao Jorge, and I visit it all days. :(!

Just visiting - Hello, I'm traveling to Sao Jorge this summer because my girlfriend's family is from there. I was hoping to squeeze in a surf session or two while I was there. I would be alone because she doesn't surf. I have much respect for the ocean and for all cultures of the world and would like to meet some new surf buddies. I am not your typical American. If anyone has any advice for what size board I should bring and wetsuit I would be very grateful. Thanks

mr amaro - Amaro, don't turn paradise into a place like all the others... full of ppl that only brings bad things like garbage and no respect in water... i know your from sao jorge, but i'm from AZORES, not these island or that... but azores... if it was graciosa island we were talking about i would say the same thing because i'm AZORIAN... so respect your own island and OUR azorian paradises so in a few years we can still have that beautifull relaxed and good vibed place to go... it's a spiritual place for all azorian surfers... before you others azorian surfers surfed there and they allways respected it so please do the same... i hope in some way i managed to touch your believes about faja and from now on you'll protect it more and in a better way... peace & good waves... you can attack me now but i'm only being your friend... and faja's friend...

Fajã da Caldeira - To cpickcard and Huey:

The spot you both mentioned is called Fajã da Caldeira or Fajã de Santo Cristo. Is definetely one of the worlds' most magical place and a worldclass surf spot. Is a 45min walk from Fajã dos cubres. You can only acess it by foot or a four-wheel-drive motobike.

is there another name for this place - You do not have to tell me what the name is but it sounds like a spot with another name.
