Not really worth the cost
I agree...mostly close outs and VERY CROWDED. I've made several trips to this place trying to get it good like in the pictures, but even during swells it's mostly closed out with only a few classic waves here and there. Not worth the cost and effort.

you can tell from the pictures. I surfed there on a day that was called "all time" from the locals and it is a close out.

Going to the dogs
Sorry chaps, this is the unfortunate reality of Nicaragua. Americans snapping up coastal real estate, slapping down gated condos and excluding the rest of the world from their beaches unless you wanna pay your way. Spent 2 months there this year, head north of Las Salinas to get in touch with the real Nicaragua, stay with the locals and surf wherever you want. Nicaragua in 5 years = Costa Rica now
