great spot - I would say all info on this place is more or less accurate. I know nothing, however mind your business and respect the locals anywhere in the world, you'll be fine. This spot is really good. Some a frames and right handers that will blow your mind. Best in the morning. That goes for most of mainland. I rate it one of my favorites. I wish I had photos of this place. Look it up on the map you'll figure out which swells hit it. Enjoy.

Great Surf! - It's a very finiky spot but have scored awesome barrels there almost every trip to the area. Just got back during the Holidays and caught the North side of the river going off, 6-8' spitting barrels, closing out alittle but bad, you could still find good ones. South side better during the summer months. South side people are very nice, I have friends there. The North side alittle sketchy, but for the 30 years I've been visiting this place I've no proplems. This past trip alot of MARINA activity but they were cool to us. Alot of tension in the whole are due to the new president cleaning house of all the drug cartell.

bus info - Can anyone give me some info on the amount of time it takes to get from the following cities in Mexico, as I am just weighing up my travel plans, many thanks
Bus from Oaxaca to Mexico City ??
Bus from Acapulco to Mexico City ??
Bus from Puerto Vallarta to Acapulco ??
Bus from Oaxaca to Puerto Escondito ??
Bus from Puerto Vallarta to Mexico City ??
Bus from Puerto Vallarta to Masatlan ??

I will be there in mex for quiet some time so lengthy bus rides will not be to much of a problem for me, Also as an other option what does it cost to rent a 4 x 4 medium sized car per week arounf the puerto Escondito area ??

- Town is creepy, crocs in the river, waves are gnarly, currents are bad, etc. Military checkpoint shakedowns on the colima/michoacan border....

northwest - I was there on the big northwesr and boca was HUGE - right and left

Tow in for sure. An amazing wave!

Will be in the vicinity - Is this place worth the trek?

- oldtexan is correct. This is a black sand beach break similar to Pascuales, but with a little more backwash. Huge barrels to be found on the right conditions.

boca - This place isn't dangerous, just the surf is. Waves on the Colima side of the river are as heavy as Pascuales, but usually smaller. I've heard rumors of a sunset like reef way south of town, but hiked and never found it. I don' believe that bullshit anymore. Anyway this town is really really cheap and the seafood is good and there are miles and miles of heavy beach break tubes every morning, as well as good ganja.

still great break - I haven't been in about eight years and they were building camp sites back then so I am sure they are everywhere around there now but I still had stuff stolen from the camp so just keep an eye open

Doubts! - I guess I shouldn't be doing any camping here!
