either walk along the beach or take the path through the park to check out the monkeys until you get to the creek inlet where the waves are the best. About 1K.
Get the jerk chicken at the hut restaraunt. Its the ish.
Overview
Atmosphere
Coolest city on Pacific coast. Got a bad rap from some isolated violated violence but its aaaight. Awesome food and a great bar with live Reggae. Off the beaten track a bit. watch out for the theiving ass monkeys.
General
Cahuita An excellent beach break, not well known and therefore not heavily visited. Nevertheless, there are waves all year round.
Nice Place
Stayed in Cahuita for 2 weeks and had a blast. When the swells are coming in the surf is good but it does close out fairly fast. I prefered Playa Negro to Playa Blanco just because it's free and not as many tourists use it.

cahuita rip off
Cahuita surf sucks i ve passed it 3 times in 3 years and never saw decent surf it needs at least a 19 feet swell and will probably 70 percent closeout then. The town is full of gringos the Locals just act as decoration and are hanging round in the streets bothering you for cigarettes and shitty weed, i get better stuff at home. Its expensive I paid 8 $ for a crappy fish n chips plate white beach is nice national park area as well but dont bother to snorkel in the reef the corals are all dead, from the pesticides they sprayed in the Banana plantations, though i met a lonely 2 mtr reef shark looking for food
dont buy chiquita bananas
better organic products.
Nice basic place to stay is back packers paradise 7 $ p.P.
I m off to Bocas del toro for new years Bluff beach has hopefully the size that I want

ROCKS
This spot rockzz I was here for a few days in 2005 and surfed it. Good waves, tubey and 6 ft. Locals are easy going ( there is no crowd) and Cahuita town is one rastafari chill-resort :PHad a good time
