frequency - florence is super fun when its on. long enough for 3 turns per wave. radical and balding get way better but they need a very special set of circumstances. in 10 years of surfing the island regularly i only got about 7 sessions in those bays but i got some A grade waves with barrels.

Fuck it, there's nothing else to do. - It's somewhat of a logistical pain in the arse to get here but it's worth it,especialy if you live in the surfing noman's land that is Townsville. Even in just a strong SE trade wind this place will produce a little wind swell. Does get epic in a cyclone swell, unfortunately you'll be in a cyclone.Although the surrounding hills provide some protection there is still alot of debry flying about and it is quit dangerous. Wear a helmet. I'm not kidding.Alternatively wait till the cyclone crosses the coast or passes south and the swell will keep rolling in for 12 - 48 hrs without the wind.
