Once you are in Songkla, head to the main beach. Then go towards south along the beach for 1 mile or so, you will have to cross a little bridge and through a kind of mini suburbs. Follow the road that it's closer to the sea and you'll find the spot.
This is a very shallow water beach. One can almost walk to the take off!!

Atmosphere
As the rest of Thailand Songkla (east coast, near the border ) is a very cheap and safe place. Not tourism thought. Check the swells and if there's one coming from the east and it's hitting the coast quite strong then it's your chance. i'm sure there are many more waves along the coast.
General
Nothing special for hard core surfers but great for adventures and beginners. You will surf alone and the local people will not believe their eyes when they see you in there. Bring your own board and fixing kit, just in case. You can find some decent waves in the main beach in Songkla as well.
