i was pondering over the net about some of the indo days i had and looked up nihiwatu on the internet.surprised that claud graves on his website claims to have found the place....that's interesting because the first day he surfed the place in 1988 (you can ask him this) there were 6 guys out. my friends and i had been surfing the place for years!ha ha ....the truth always catch's up. i have a half a dozen friends that can back me up on this and have many photos of that area before the camp went up....we never went back though.claud graves was pissed off that we were there ....funny enough we'd been going there for so long...oh well.
this wave does get damn good but it takes a wait.
hope the place is treating you well claud and all that good work you're doing for charity....you must be a saint by now!! don't claim things that aren't true mate....better not mention it in the first place .don't worry thoughi won't tell the boys!

Not a farce at all
Seriously. Why would I make something like this up? I personally saw him toss many a cig over the cliff onto the rock below. Very trashy behavior. Our food sucked, maybe yours was good. Wave is a close out! Staff paddled around my wife (paying customer) more than once to snake her. The place is worth about $100/night. Not the $350 (plus all the f--ing taxes) we were charged.
Plain and simple. Claude has entertained some bigwigs in the industry to get a lot of free press. We simply were not impressed.
