A good right hander breaking off of a Jetty with a rock bottom. Great veiw and easy to find. In the summer-time its really crowded with longboarders every where the local shops are great. when you go down ditch plains rd. dont park in the first parking lot go to where the hotel is and park there it is a shorter walk. Stay just off of the rock pile and catch the rights, there are some lefts but they dont have as much punch. Although, if u catch a left the bottom turns to sand.Ditch is surfed off the jetty at the east end parking lot away from the lifeguards...
Atmosphere
Locals are really cool but you have to watch out for those out of towners... ya know the ones who are down from New York City for the week.

this is a fun spot and for all of those skaters there is a near-by skate park.

- Both pictures arent ditch... the 1st doesn't look like it, and the second is clearly turtles.

Ditch... - Ditchcan be both a right or a left depending on the swell... i went today and there was both.

Beach Dog Mary - Ditch Plains is a terrible place to surf. More kooks on long island than California and Hawaii combined. Ensure you get drunk at Cyrlls before entering the water
