English (Traducir este texto en Español): It's a pretty funky wave. It has this weird section on the lefts that pitches, mushes, and then the wave fades out real quick. If you get the lefts that line up from deep you get a decent ride and sometimes you can get in and out before the section mushes out.

There are some nice rights but you can get stranded on the super shallow inside because they don't break into a channel like the lefts do.
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): Pretty mellow, but always pretty crowded. Like most south shore spots there are heaps of long boarders out which kind of sucks.
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): Always pretty fun and easy enough to score waves but defnitely nothing world class

super duper - kewalos really is a great wave, but try getting a set wave on a good day and you're likely to get very frustrated. the wave breaks like a machine, nearly the same place everytime, so the takeoff zone is tight, and there's a pretty clear pecking order. often if you do find yourself in good position, some random guy will turn his head and drop in. seriously, i'd say it's harder to get a wave here than a good day at rocky point. great wave tho.

kewalos channel - i was bodyboarding at kewalos and i noticed there was no one out at point panic. I wanted to cross the channel to go there. Then I thought there must be a reason no one was crossing the channel. There was like twenty of us out at kewalos and no one at point panic. Then my brother told me the channel is very polluted and shark infested.

Howzit from the 60s bras - I'm 62 now -snf- but I surfed Kewalo 1965-66 with Bones, Ronny N, Long Russ, Russ Mawae, Stephen, Mooch to name a few. The guys called me "Bobby Boy". We used glassed in skeg boards w/o leashes. No kooks, no crowds, no kidding! Beautiful lefts, the bigger the better it got. We pulled right up to the shoreline and climbed over the rocks to launch. We ate at the San Pan Inn and the KHVH News Heliport was there. My wife and I were there in 04. The way it was is all gone now, beautiful park. We ate at the expensive restaurant and I watched you guys in the sunset. Never stop surfin dudes!
