call it shit but it's alright - the old o.g gets a bad rap here, no stars. but like the fella down the page, I've had some great surfs down the east end, where there is more swell, and banks. I'm only intemediate level, so sometimes it's great when 13th gets bit heavy. don't be ashamed grovers

Keep it in context - There are many negative comments in regards to Ocean Grove but I think it's important to keep it in context. Ocean Grove is a great beach to take the family, teach the kids about the surf and to learn to surf. It's not "Pipeline" and never will be, it's a reasonably safe beach to learn to surf at without putting yourself at too much risk. So don't talk it down, look to the positives it has to offer. If you’re looking for a more adventurist wave or are an experienced surfer there are plenty of other breaks on the surf coast that cater for you. If you are learning to surf or want to teach the kids about safety in the surf in reasonably tame environment then it's pretty hard to go past Ocean Grove.
