On the east coast of Dongshan there are three beaches, the most north beach is full of guesthouses, bars and restaurants. You need to get to the long beach with a fishing village. Its the last beach on the east side. Plenty of fun beach break and one boulder bottom point. On the south side of Dongshan there are also three beaches, sand bottom and a point in each bay plus beach break. If the wind is bad on the east head south its offshore there or vice versa. Atmosphère

Locals very friendly, a crowd will gather to watch you surf and when you exit the water they may invite you to their house for tea. Plenty to explore during the day if its flat, nightlife is suprisingly fun, accomodation cheap and seafood right off of the boat.
