Sometimes better known for its classic righthand pointbreaks is Stillbay in the Eastern Cape, you dont have to travel too far from one spot to another to find something good. Many famous beachbreaks, reefbreaks etc and the water is considerably warmer than Capetown. You'll find plenty of holiday spots, mostly for Afrikaans people so accomodation is no problem but a 4x4 will help for dust roads and getting to some points. During summer holidays (Dec - Feb) a few well known spots will be crowded but the rest of the year, which has bigger swell, its pretty much empty besides a few locals. There is a large part of´'undiscovered' surf territory aswell which are known for a couple of gems which turn on regularly.
