Additional Surfing Infos
Cloudbreak is alot like Teahupoo,I've never surfed it but alot of the same tips probably apply .
  Overview
Atmosphere Cloudbreak is very unique in that it has the power and hollowness of Teahupoo, and it is very long. It's consistent and holds big swells. With several takeoff spots and heaving sections,it is the ultimate proving ground for surfing- especially on big days.
General Cloudbreak is the gnarliest wave iv'e ever seen,it has a good setup on the island of tavarua. Just a short boat trip away from the resort on the island, it is relatively convinient to arrange accomidations to get there.

Angry Seppos
I surfed cloudbreak 7 days a week in the early nineties. We stayed at seashells and travelled by boat from momi bay.Even back then we were hassled and threatened with violence from rich seppos coming over surfing it when tavarua wasnt firing. We figured they were bitter from paying big money for staying on tavarua and having to surf cloudbreak with guys who were paying 20 bux a night in seashell cove.Glad i havnt been back...seems a total joke now...Dont worry boys its a good wave but not epic...ive had better waves in Oz...and over sand bottom to boot.Let the rich seppos have it to themselves....birds of a feather flock together.

owning a spot is wrong
guilty, I have surfed it. it is great wave. I paid the money. Too rich for my blood. I beleive it is wrong. If someone were to monopolize parts of indo or mainland mex people would freak out. That being said cloudbreak with 50 fing guys out would be dangerous and crazy. especially with a good swell. I would hate to see localism like the northshore destroy that wave. I am torn between the worst sides of human nature.......

Namotu
You will have access to Wilkes, Swimming pools and Namotu lefts. These can be good. If you want to surf Cloudbreak and Restaurants then book with Tavarua. Its not that hard to get on ... the private people who control their group for each week can easily have a last minute spot that needs filling. I went once with two weeks notice because of someone's broken ankle and it was EPIC! Be flexible with your time and you can score the real deal. If you are going to Namotu then just say "hi" to all the sailboarders for me but .... at least all Namotu's bures have AC .... only the "family bures" at Tavs do.
