- i surfed here when it was 70-90 ft. pretty easy waves to catch, theyre just mushy. there was this nice 146ft. and 7 inch set that came in, and i lost my board, but it was pretty fun riding those little waves. ive surfed bigger waves at bermuda when it was easily pushing 500 ft +

- THis spot is not a regional classic. You want to get here? Well here's better derictions. Take rt. 12 north Through Corolla until the road ends. If you don't have 4 wheel drive you're beat. Then follow the beach up to the VA border. Find the best peak. It's never crowded and surfer locals aren't to be feared in no way what so ever. However, there are some renagades out there who have claimed sections of land in this off the beaten path area and don't take kindly to strangers on "their" land. Better off staying in town or further south. The shark thing is for real. In the past years there have been a few attacks in the area from the VA border to Pine Island. Also a famous attack during "the year of the shark" right over the VA border. Bull attacked a kid and the uncle wrestled the shark to shore. Kid died. Have personnally have had four shark encounters in the area in the last two years. Thre weed's been killer here lately. Just got done some primo white widow.
