About a quarter mile past Sunset Beach on Kam Highway going towards Haleiwa, you will spot a big Indian Head Tiki carved out of wood on the left (huge, 2 story monster with colorful beach towels and sarrongs flapping below it). Turn into the small street on the right across from the statue. Then take a quick left and your on the 'back road.' Go down to the second public right of way between the houses and you have found PUPUKEA. Lock you car and bring everything you want to keep down to the beach with you. Car plunging is rife down here in the winter months. Atmosphère

Good spot for all types of surfers from beginner to expert I have personally surfed out at Pupukea with Derek and Micheal Ho, Andy Irons, Kalani Robb, and many many other pro surfers and the vibe is always good. Plenty of waves makes it better.
