Kilauea Bay Beach is in a small cove at the end of the placid Kilauea River and bordered by tree covered hills and a rock quarry. You might be lucky and have the beach to yourself. More often the semi-seclusion of this beach is broken by the anxiety caused by the Kauai homeless who unofficially camp at Kilauea Beach. While the seas are calm, enthusiasm for swimming is mitigated by murky conditions. Only surfed here twice but both times were a blast. A great clean break in summer. There is also a river inlet where it is safe for children to paddle. The beach is backed by woods and very private.
Watch out for the watch out for the Portuguese Man-of-war.

Please ... - do the world a favor and get an education. You are shockingly illiterate — unless you're under age 6. Wow.

- This spot was runied by the dam break I belive. Who ever wrote this most not live there because nobody camps here anymore because of Local brudas doing potrols for the rich on 4 weelers. IT yous to be a huge left on a good day mabey once a year. OThere then that its alway blown out. I hate it when some kook from the main land writes about a place he surfed 20 years ago and then comments on it get a life
