NO surf ,just mush - NO No No
like I said early on in the year this is not a good surfable wave and any body who says otherwise needs to get out more. Camber is realy good to kitesurf and I have done for many years , but I have never been tempted to take my minimal or any other surfboard. When there is a wave it is very choppy not clean and is just mush.. kitesurf yes ,surf no long board no laught at yes. . .

Longboarder - Im am A local to this beach, It can Get really good in the autumn/winter, i surf there regularly, and often has a surfable swell, ok its not croyde or watergate, but i live 300 miles away fromthere and go 2/3time a year.

If your local and a longboarder i would recommend this spot as its better than wanking in your bedroom over photos of better waves. At least your out there getting wet.

Drowned in froth - Camber is Pikeyville. It is a bodyboarding venue for the desperate. Surfed(body board)it during a SW gale that had just thrown a 2000t ship on the beach 13/9/04.Caught a few waves and still had wheels on my motor when I got back, BONUS!!!

great spot - I can say i have never had any problems with any one at camber, there is a good crowd of people there every weekend all taking part in a wide range of sports from kite boarding to kayaking and all are more than willing to offer help and advice. I feel that the best spots at camber are the east end where the gravel kicks in, you can park right on the beach and parking is free, the only problem is the waves tend to dump you on the beach. The other spot is at the west end by rye harbour mouth, there are some big sand bars here combined with the wall that creat some nice waves when everywhere else is flat. It can be a bit of a walk where ever you park, best to park in the main car park at camber or park at the end of rye harbour road where you can paddel across the river and walk down to the sands. The best time for waves is befor and after high tide, so check tide times.

Scum - I agree with a couple of the comments on this wave. It is shit, you can't surf it. Even if there was a swell big enough to make it work you still have to try and escape the clutches of the scum. They are everywhere - don't leave anything around, they are proper fucking pikeys. Unless you are from the shanty towns of Rio, you will be scared!!!! To of my friends have been shot, one stabbed and another robbed of his socks. This is not nice country. And remember the wave sucks as well.

pants - if you wanna go for a surf go somewhere else this place is shit. along with the shit waves are the hazards. Pikey's, there fuckin everywhere.

Not allways good - if u want to go to camber, and not have a wasted journey, make sure u have a thurough check of the tides and surf report, its best to surf about 2 hours b4 high tide, then will go on till about 2-3 hours after high tide, n e thing near low tide is NOT WORTH going to, its very shallow and iv had a more powerfull wave in my bath!
