Marked on the map.simple access travel along slea head from the ventry side and coumeenoul is the first spot you willget to however as you keep travel many more spots can be explored there is a car park and steep slip leading down to a small strand beware of powerful currents on all these spots reccomended to surf on the incomming tide to be safe. Beware bathers in summmer. Strong currents. Deceptively strong waves. Difficult to predict break, stick to one spot left or right (depending on preference) and wait for peak. Fast up needed, can be dumpy. really powerful waves that tube whith a nice off shore wind a real strong ledgy wave. one of my favourite spots that offers both right and left breaks depending on what wind is there
Atmosphere
can't be beat...can be crowded at the weekends during july and agust with body borders and kids but any other time its awesome. i saw waves touch 30ft there in october in many occasions
General
favourite in Europe. its a great spot that faces the blasket islands and as you catch a wave you get to look at thehuge cliffy coastline

localism - didn't know this sort of crap went on here. Just mind your manners if you're surfing in someone else's hood. All times I've been here, locals have been cool. Is there any surf in Tralee? Is the last guy for real?

Summer in Coumeenole - As the beach is quite short, especially when the tide is coming in. 100 - 150 metres it can get especially crowded with bathers. On these days it is impossible to surf safely and is really more suited towards bodyboarding.

class.... - donno whats buggin all you lads but reading this has given me some laugh. these are moving lumps of water we're talking about. it's sad to say but the we need a war or sumit to sort our thinking out. cheers for the laugh tho.........
