FUNNY CR THEFT STORY - THEFT IN CR. Well I was surfing with my was than wife. Some beach break. Warm Sunny afternoon. My rented a old Suv. We parked right in front of where we were surfing. Everyone told me theft was just nuts there but you here that a lot , in a lot of places. As a rule I just don't bring a lot of valuable shit with. Well I see this guy lurking around my car from the water. bumped my lock and was in out in like 30 seconds. I go to me ex. Our car just got broken into. Well she was quit Indignant. I just laugh. what could I do. The time I paddle in he's so long gone. If I do catch him then what. I'm not going to beat him up over twenty bucks and 100 dollar sunglasses. Saying I could beat him up. THen next thing you know I got ten tuff guys hunting me down cause little bro got beat by a gringo. Yeah it sucks you go to a country and pour thousands of dollars into there economy but Theft is just as bad at home. Conclusion. I don't give a shit really. Coming back to CR this winter. Staying 5star at the RIU. never been there before. Whats the nearest surf to there. Any info much appreciated. It's my girlfriends trip. She's worked hard last two years. It will be my first all inclusive. I told her we must go somewhere where I can at least surf so I don't become a obese raging alcoholic for two weeks. We met in the middle on CR. Merry Christmas.

Visit Santa Teresa / Malpais - Yes, head farther south than Tamarindo for some great surf. Check out Santa Teresa on the wannasurf website, or for even more info: http://www.malpaissurfing.com

THEFT! How to control It! - Do what I/my bros do! Set up a DCoy. I guess there's not too many bright surfers headed for CR. I live in Florida, and have a ton of respect for locals, hear and abroad. But I see theft here just as much as you traveling surfers see anywhere. Don't cry about it unless your willing to do something to about it! Yes our cars get broken into also. Here's what you do. Put your car at a vulnerable location, keep your windows down, car unlocked(to avoid damage)put an empty wallet and cheap sunglassess on the dash, sit and wait. When that little piece of shit takes the bait, kick the living crap out of him. Do this a few times and word is going to get around. I've done this so I know. PROBLEM SOLVED! I will be over there this coming June, so if you see a rental with unlocked doors and windows down, STAY AWAY! I will be watching!
