Take a boat from Limon. You can see the island you just can't taste it till you get there.If it is breaking on the mainland it is bigger on the island.

Drop in, speed through the tube, then do a big wrap around cutback after you get spit out.
Fun and not to crowded if you get on it early. There is a family that will accept a donation if you get hungry and want some food.
The best on the east coast.

Great Wave - GREAT WAVESurfed it two days in a row, one evening and one dawn patrol. There were a few cool locals out during the evening session, but I didnt see a soul for 5 hours during the morning session(besides the odd barge and turtle spearers). You can catch a rid to the island for $10 a head. When you get to limon, go to playa bonita and ask around for a guy named "Roach" (juan carlos officially) he will take care of you.
