The following is also a extract from The Surfermag

"If Dr. Mead’s other projects are anything to go by, the surfers in St. Francis Bay are in for a real treat. “In good conditions the right will be a very good barreling wave,” he says, adding that, “If you look at the Mt. Reef project in New Zealand, once it was completed we’ve seen 50 meter long barrel rides on that wave. And we are looking at probably a 100 meter long wave in St. Francis, so there will be a section in that which will be a high quality wave for competent to expert surfers.” "

Another view:
this wave is a fraud, the people who have "invested" money in it have been ripped off and defrauded. some wanker made a toy reef in a water tank and it worked fine! well i took a s*#t this morning and it make great waves too! a couple of blind herdsmen from the middle of the gobi desert could have designed a better reef.....please......i hope environment BOP forces them to remove this POS

Million plus VOID - Be waves breaking 50 metres up and down the beach but the 'REEF' is a millpond They have basicly rooted 150 metres of previosly fine breaks and left a wave void. And the breaks around it have not been enhanced by it at all as some have said ,they were good way before that c0ck up arrived. Its a shame really. Idea was good .Please dont get shafted too!!The only guys i have seen on it were 13 year old boogieboarders & they are probably the ones hyping about it, or the designers? But that was before it stopped breaking at all.The photos you get to see were when it was first constructed and hadnt sunk or whatever .The narrowneck 1 on the gold coast is just a big joke to the boys on the Goldie , A bigger Void. And yes I've lived and surfed the mount for 30 odd years. Forget it .
