Atmosphere
Remote and beautiful. With at least 10 surf breaks in Ekas Bay and on the remote south-east corner of Lombok. All accessible by road or boat from Heaven on the Planet. the only real beginner's wave in Lombok, plus crash hot waves when it is big. works on every swell at the bay or on the southern reefs. Easy left, hard right and barrelling right all within 1 km of the resort
General
I spend 3-4 months a year there. It is extremely beautiful, great waves and super easy lifestyle. There is diving, snorkelling and the only real skateboard bowl for a 1000 km.

Ekas worth the trek - Ekas is worth the trip to come by boat. Fuck the overpriced resort bullshit - cause there will be fuck all to do on land anyway. The place is absolutely beautiful, scenery and when the swell comes, it really comes. Outsides is not the most perfect wave but can really hold a lot of swell, 12-15 foot when we were there... But gets too much after a while at that size, which is when you go to Insides where....O.M.G the most amazing Right EVER. Not barrelling, but just so perfect to smash and smash and smash again and again...and surprisingly easy take off too. Resorts are bullshit though - fucking bullshit, we had a flat day and swam to shore - the fuckwits wouldn't even let us come in to have a drink! What would happen if one of us had presented with a serious injury? would have they then also been too exclusive to deal with us... as far as I can see - that kind of high-end capitalist type of holiday resort is just totally fucked! The majority of tourists that are likely to come to a place like Ekas ARE SURFERS. And 99 percent of surfers wordwide would aggree that you can't put a price tag on the ocean. Surfing is about the search, the challenge, the chill and the cool vibes.. No cool vibes about forking out a fortune to surf a wave all by yourself - fucking spoon fed bullshit!

accommodation at ekas - Does anybody know if there is a place 2 stay close 2 Ekas except 4 HOTP. Do they (HOTP) realy charge those ridiculous prices that they have on their homepage. Or is it like elsewhere...(pay one quarter when u show up)?
