Nice place, good formation and very crowded during the summer weekends (Dec. - Mar). With the proper wind and swell is one of the best waves of the north shore of São Paulo, along with Maresias. Fancy houses at the area, and absolutely no lodging at the beach area. But you can consider staying at very nice and cheap hotels nearby. (Around 20 USD/day with breakfast). Brazil is now a MUST GO place for those who make they money in dollars. With a few bucks you can do a lot here.

play ground - nice wave to have fun, easy drop and than sometimes becomes holow on the inside on the low tide, experieced surfer usualy prefers maresias or cambury, but wen is to huge on storm swells the waves start braking all at the same time and this beach suport biger waves with good quality, the famous spot on baleia's beach is th right side of to the beach close to de rocks the spot call's "Canto Mágico" ( magic edge) since is a quite paddle to the surf spot right on the beach on this corner there is a chanel close to the rocks with a current that tow you to the out side. Be fast to padle for the left to get of the current wen you get to the outside or the curent will keep draging you far away to the ocean, but dont be afraid is easy like kid stuff , just paddle to de left and you ar out to de current right on the spot without any duck diving

- not usually the first choice, but this place can deliver the goods. neighboring camburi is usually better but can get out of control on larger swells. Fat take off and can deliver a fast inside, a good option for the less experieced.
