From I-5 take the GARNET exit and head WEST. When you get to the beach turn RIGHT onto MISSION BLVD, then turn LEFT onto FELDSPAR. Park on the street. Go to the beach... you cant miss the pier(out and too your left).

Additional Information
This wave generally breaks off the pier going left, but occasionally its breaks to the right as well(if you paddle about 50yards north you can catch a decent right). If your near the pier, "shoot the pier" if you dare. I have only seen it a few times(its pretty narrow).

Atmosphere
This spot is pretty friendly for the most part. Although, when it gets good you need to know your place in the line up. By no means is it as localized as windansea or some of the other GREAT breaks in SD but when its good this left is really fun and can be intense(sometimes/rarely).

General
I love this spot... laid-back as much as it is intense. very little risk other than the occasional grom/kook/nubie that accidentally slams into you and cant control himself or his board. other than that no natural dangers just the pier and the surfers... fun spot all and all.
Also, the locals that go there have been surfing it for many years, so don't think you can just come out and sit right next to the pier. The locs won't let you get a wave if you're new and you try to pull that.

Pier - Calling this spot friendly is def. not the case. Ton of aggros out there, think they own the pier. Figures with the people over near Crystal Pier, gives them even more of an ego than they have already. Plus you have to worry about longboarders moving from the north and taking almost every wave, garbage, but a better option than longboarder center near Tourmaline.
