To FLSURFER - The winter is our surfing season. All those cold fronts that pass over Florida gets here with big swells and no cold weather.........To surf you gonna have to go to Rincon or Aguadilla, about one hour or two from Yauco, all kind of breaks.
Hows The surf be there nov 5 - ill be going to pr nov. 5 to stay for a month and i was wouldering what the best spots to surf around yauco where?and the best spots in the island this time of year?prefer a sand break.
Answer to Surferguy - Dude, with an hour from San Juan you have more than 20 spots that you can surf. If you are staying in Condado the nearest beaches you have are: LA PERLA, LA OCHO, LA PUNTA, ISLITA, PINEGROVE, CHATARRA, AVIONES and TOCONES. They're all about 10 to 25 minutes from Condado.Enjoy your days in P.R. Surf's up!
need info on surf spots - i am comin in to puerto rico in the middle of march wiht my family. the wont let me take any day trips and my mom doesnt want me goin to rincon. but i cant argue i am goin to puerto rico. so i was wonderin if there are any good beach breaks for a decent surfer around and hour from sanjuan or shorter. i am not the best but gettin up and ridin the line is definatly and throwin a couple of tyurn or tuckin in the barrel is not a problem.my parents wont let me surf and reef breaks because the dont want me to destroy the familty vacation. so i was wantin to know it there was any fun maybe barreling beach breaks or a really long right and left . if you could reply i would aprreciate it because i have to prove to my parents that takin my board is really worth it. thanks please reply

REEDJONES, ANSWER TO - Well, if you decide to come to PR you won't regret. October is when the cold fronts start to arrive(we hope). The nearest good surf in Carolina is Aviones(airplanes) beach, right at north of San Juan Airport - 10 minutes. Plus a lot of point breaks around San Juan and Carolina. You can surf around the whole island if there a swell and if you have time and transport. It only takes about 4 hours to go from east to west, the longest distance on the island. From Carolina to Rincon less than 3 hours(-413- ROAD TO HAPPINES, RINCON). HAVE FUN.
