Extremely inconsistent with tiny swell window. Baja Surf forecasts unreliable for this spot due to location inside a bay with several points of land causing wave shadows.
No accomodations. Windy, dusty. Cold showers. Water rationed to campers (this is the desert)Camping is on lava rock bluff top. Not cushy or comfortable.
Longboards? Overpopulation? What ever the cause, the summer of 2002 has been ridiculously crowded. Camping area above max capacity. Altercations on the rise.
July 02: Flat or too windy=5 days, 0-waist high= 24 days, shoulder high+=2 days.
Always people out at all 3 points.
Scorpion Bay could still be salvaged if a creative strategy was used to control capacity: (members surf/country club, reservation-only camping, designated campsites with a maximum capacity, or no camping with capacity-controlled day use...)

whatever - I had to laugh when I read the post saying the Beaner Navy was threatening fines of 10,000 pesos.
Dude, that's like 10 bucks.

expat hell - San Juanico is turning into an expat vs visitor version of the Gaza strip. Awesome wave that can go on perfectly for several hundred yards. Atmosphere has deteriorated substantially due to expats in the past few years. There should be some law requiring expats to be at least as friendly as the poor locals they displaced! When you make it into town, find a real Mexican to find out what the true scoop is on camping, surfing, etc.

Navy rumors. Scorp is safe - Are U guys on meth? Such lies. None of this happening. Scorp is safe, wait your turn in the line-up and smile. I've been down here for months.....
